When founder, Damien Boehm began Urban Clean, the challenge he faced was making his cleaning service stand out. He offered a great clean, had testimonials and references, but so did hundreds of other cleaners. He tried making changes to his services offering, adding extra services, even offering free cleans. Nothing was sticking.
Then, in a flash of inspiration, he realised that instead of guessing what the client wanted, he could simply ask. He interviewed them, took notes and incorporated their specific feedback into each clean. His ideal client was the business that wanted him to ask them their specific needs and take care of them. This idea was a gamechanger, and it became clear that clients were willing to pay extra for it.

Clients are busy and don’t want to lose productivity following up their cleaners because the bins haven’t been emptied. People notice the little things, especially when they affect comfort or performance. Clients want to know that each task has been completed to the highest possible standard, the first time. They want to know who will turn up, what they will do and when they will do it.
